A few years ago the jail had over anxious officers there. Seems to have calmed down at the window. But, let me tell you all something that may come a shock. These inmates in there are human beings, not animals. And then there are some who are not guilty, and some with just traffic violations. So, any one that drives, you don't fool anyone, if you drove even 1 mile over the speed limit, or rolled through a stop sign, well there you go, you broke the law too. You know the FEDERAL inmates are in the front of the house. Now they are the ones who gets treated like INMATE "Hilton Inn!" I guess so where do you think the money comes from? It comes from the FEDERAL Government. That's probably the times when the back of the house gets treated different... So, they look good when the Feds come in. I could go on about, but let's hope there is a resolution on what's going on now... I feel for any family that has an family member incarsarated. I know you do the crime, you pay the time, but sometimes it's the system that gets them there!

The worst county jail i have ever been in

Human rights are violated on a daily basis here. I was held on my back, with handcuffs on, and sprayed in my face (they tried to hold my eyes open) with mace, because my brother resisted arrest at a different time and location... I was placed into a 1 person holding cell, with 5 other men. There literally wasn't space to move around, and the toilet, and bunk in the 4' x 5' room did not make anything easier... The deputies refused to give me any of my medications, and after I explained that I could die without it, they tried to imply that I was "suicidal," which made me stop asking for my medicine... There have been cases of females raped by the male deputies, and the deputies bring in syringes and heroin for the inmates. They are never reprimanded for their abusive behavior. I actually think it may be encouraged... The deputies abuse the authority we as society have granted to them, and they easily get away with it because there is no oversight for the Sheriff Department. These people answer to no one, except Satan... I have no criminal record, because I did nothing wrong, but have been arrested and held in jail 4 times... One time was simply for having my own prescription medication on my person, outside of the original prescription bottle. After the prosecutors decided to proceed with the false charges, I was arrested again, on the same charge, and was to be held for 10 months, because they do not set a trial date until after you are arrested on your warrant. If I would not have spent $1,500 to bail myself out, (which I did not get back, because my bail was actually $15,000, and I was forced to use a bail bondsman) I would have been forced to stay in jail the entire duration of the legal proceedings... This is how the "justice system" gets people to take really bad plea bargains so easily... I was financially lucky, until I went to court... I was threatened and intimidated in court, by my own public defender, to take a "misdemeanor marijuana possession" charge, instead of being tried on a "felony possession of controlled substance" charge for having my own prescription medication on me without the bottle. After refusing for 9 months, Wayne Williams, the head defense attorney for our county at the time, threatened me that if I did not take the plea bargain, he would "push the case thru trial so fast, I would be in prison by the end of the next month." After refusing again, the prosecution finally dropped all charges... It took me 2 whole years, and $2,000 total (I had to pay the public defender also, but I still don't know for what. He did nothing but try to intimidate me, and help the prosecution) to get the prosecution to understand that my medication was my medication, and I brought proof from the pharmacy with me the very first time I went to court... Witness intimidation by our own "justice system." Another incident, the sheriff deputies physically and brutally mistreated me (handcuffs & then mace) simply for revenge, because my brother. I do not want to believe the narrative of the "Black Lives Matter" terrorist organization, but my experiences with this Sheriff Department, as a white male, have granted much validity to many of the claims that the "Black Lives Matter" terrorist make... The only thing they are wrong about is race... The police and authorities do not target and brutalize people based on race, they target and brutalize people based on class... The race doesn't matter at all... They target the poor because they know the poor will be forced to take horrible plea bargains, or stay in jail for years and years at a time, because they do not have the money that the judicial system requires to receive fair treatment... Jail is for people who are innocent until proven guilty, but in St. Francois County, you are guilty until proven innocent...
